Sole Purpose Productions presents
by Patricia Byrne
Directed by Shauna Kelpie
“Do you ever feel alone, like really alone, like nobody gets you?”
Behind the music, the closed door, inside the mind of a young man, there is a darkness, a heaviness that will not go away. This is a story about Ryan. You may not know him but you may know someone like him.
Developed in association with Siobhan O’Neill – Professor of Mental Health Sciences at Ulster University, Youthlife and AWARE NI, this play shines a light on the lonely darkness of depression and its impact on the family.
Performances will be followed by an optional interactive theatre workshop which will explore issues raised in the play. This is a powerful way to explore difficult questions.
Sole Purpose Productions has a reputation for engaging theatre audiences in issues that are sometimes uncomfortable and raw; Blinkered promises to be another challenging performance.
This production is supported by the Arts Council of Ireland North South Touring Scheme and ESB Energy for Generations Fund. The Samaritans will be present at each performance for anyone who would like information about their services and to provide a listening ear if required.
“This is a must see show, outstanding!!” AWARE NI
